Welcome

During the day we serve bar meals, from traditional Whitby fish and chips to our daily carvery. Our evening menu has something for everyone, from steak pie and scampi to a la carte dishes. Join us between 12-6 on a Sunday for our ever popular traditional Sunday Carvery.

Our restaurant has many varied areas and cosy corners; from our unique 'Stable Restaurant' which offers many features from flagstone floors and open beams to our beautiful stained glass entrance. There is an original working range which adds warmth and glow from the flames on the winter evenings.

A hand crafted stone staircase with wrought iron railings leads to our lounge area overlooking the beautiful Esk Valley. Feel free to enjoy a drink before dinner or relax with a coffee and homemade truffles after your dinner. You could take in the night air under the stars on the island in the pond, flood lit on an evening by Victorian lamps.

We have a garden room overlooking a magnificent view of the countryside where you can enjoy lunch or a drink whilst basking in the warmth of traditional log burner.

We have a private dining room surrounded by panelling with its own fireplace – ideal for private parties of up to 12 guests to dine back in time.

We have extensive gardens and in the summer months you can have your lunch or just relax with a cold drink.

The dishes in our restaurant are created by our head chef Imtiaz John and his team of highly experienced chefs. They thrive on bringing you traditional country dishes with a twist.

All our food is freshly prepared to order using the finest locally sourced ingredients and meat produced from local farmers. Please see our meet the supplier’s page for more information.

From Steak pie to fillet steak we have something for everyone. Please have a look at our menus.
